Alexandra Schlicting

Alexandra grew up in the bustling cultural hub that was Portland, OR during the turn of the 21st century. It was a bold time. A time of growth in technology, information and consumption of egg sandwiches with pancakes for bread. A time when bread was not as cheap as it once had been and kids began giving their elders less than the proper respect.

As the daughter, grandchild and sister of dedicated artists, she was fortunate to be able to grow up experiencing the craft of creating and selling paintings firsthand. In spite of that Alexandra decided to become an artist herself and began her journey in the well-soaked town of Corvallis.

Alexandra's artwork is influenced by the diversity of the Oregon landscape, her fondness for pattern and ecological interconnectedness and her inexpert but well-intentioned environmentalism. And the occasional episode of Star Trek.
